The pressure was on for photographer Dani Ford and videographer Noah White during this couple’s portrait session in Kentucky. The ceremony had ended as the sun was setting and the suggested portrait spot was, unfortunately, just too dark to work with by the time they had arrived. “At this point I was covered in nervous sweat, with the pressure mounting to find a suitable spot for this couple,” Ford recalls.

The group didn’t have to drive too far to find this driveway that was mostly free of trees, allowing a bit more of the remaining sunlight to stream into the frame. It wasn’t until White pulled out his drone, though, that Ford’s vision hit. She directed the couple to snuggle in the bed of the truck and fluffed up the dress a bit to prep for the overhead capture. “Really, I had no idea if any of this would work, I’m not experienced with drone shots,” Ford says, “but I had it in my mind the way I wanted the frame to look. When Noah floated the drone in and I was able to see them in the control screen, I let out a huge yell: ‘Oh my god! Yes, guys! You look incredible!’ ”
