A Tender Moment in Harsh Light

Utah-based wedding and portrait shooter Talia Jensen was visiting a friend’s home to capture pictures of her 10-day-old daughter when the photographer took this accidental shot. The session had just begun and Jensen was worried about the harsh light pouring in through the window. “It seemed like something I wanted to avoid,” she recalls.

Jensen was still adjusting her exposure settings when she captured this tender moment. “I saw how it translated over in the photo, and it took my breath away,” she explains. “It’s a good reminder that light can work with you, not against you, if you know how to approach it. And in this case, I got a lovely image that showcases the delicate baby girl and her mother admiring her beauty.”
