A Sense of Surroundings

It’s way more fun to shoot your best friends’ wedding than a couple you don’t know, isn’t it? German photographer Timo Hess found himself in that fortunate position for these nuptials, held at the historical landmark Carolinenturm, near Weimar in Germany.

“Since Caro and Flo are two of my best friends, it was not really a couple’s shoot on their wedding day,” Hess recalls. “It was more about just having a great time. There was a wheat field next to the location of the ceremony, so we used it for some photos and after a few minutes, both of them had some behind their ears. It gives this kind of standard pose a unique flavor.”

(Shot on a Nikon D750 and Sigma 35mm f/1.4 Art lens at 35mm, f/1.4, 1/4000 sec. and ISO 100.)
