For this Phuket, Thailand, wedding with couple Emily and Matt, Malaysia-based photographer Ameirfikri wanted to do his research and get more familiar with the location and the wedding setup, since this was a more intimate ceremony and reception than what he is used to covering.

“We had good weather, an exclusive venue, amazing decorations and an amazing couple,” he describes. “The best part of having a smaller wedding with fewer people at the event is that it’s easier to get everyone into the act somehow. Depending on how small the ceremony is, you can have more photo opportunities that are different from the usual wedding shots, including capturing a special reading at the ceremony, have family and friends stand and encircle the couple as they exchange vows, or finding special details that you are really drawn to.” Ameirfikri especially loved the floral decorations arranged by Wedding Boutique Phuket, in addition to how relaxed and intimate the day was.
