Photo of the Day
In this shot, Jane Iskra, a wedding photographer based in Iceland, was going for a well-known frame in the industry these days: the couple standing amid an impressive landscape, captured with a tilt-shift effect. Here, she had them in front of a pine forest.
“I was using a tilt-shift then to make a cool and beautiful effect,” she recounts, “but then I saw their cool and contrasty reflections [in the water nearby], so I decided to make a minimalistic frame shooting their reflection in the pond.” The final touch was flipping the photo upside down, making the couple upright and adding a moment of mystery to Iskra’s method of capture. It almost looks as if she shot it through dense rain and fog.
(Shot with a Canon 5D Mark II and Canon 24mm f/1.4L lens.)
