Couple Liz and Bo traveled from Texas to get married in a hot air balloon over Colorado where they met their photographer, Nina Larsen Reed. The group met up in a field outside of Boulder just before sunrise and gave themselves plenty of time to "play around" while the balloon was being inflated, Reed says.
"As the sun crested the horizon, I noticed the light hitting the top of the balloon perfectly for silhouettes, so I asked the couple to sneak away to the other side of the balloon for a quiet moment before getting in the air," Reed explains. "I stayed at the balloon opening and caught this shot as Liz and Bo wandered around."
The final shot is a colorful and wonderfully geometric composition, but it wasn't all that easy to capture, the photographer recalls. "The most challenging part of getting this shot was staying steady in front of the massive fans that were blowing air, and portraying the scale of both the pre-wedding moment and the physical hot air balloon."
