A Burst of Energy

It had been a rainy day at this wedding, say Andrew and Tin Tin of Hipster Wedding, though promises of clearer skies in the evening meant the team was dashing to set up an outdoor reception.

The couple had a little surprise for the guests: After their first dance, a bouquet of fireworks would go off on a nearby beach. As their dance together came to a close, sure enough, bursts of color in the air thrilled their friends and families.

“Everyone was really excited and so was the bride,” Andrew says. “She ran from the dance floor to the beach and the groom followed her to enjoy the moment together.” Not wanting to disturb the couple in awe, Andrew hung back and photographed them as they were. He snapped the shutter as the groom leaned in to hug and kiss his bride.

“It was a low light condition and really hard for my camera to find and focus on my couple,” adds Andrew, who wanted to take a silhouette photo. As such, he decided against his flash and instead used the light of the fireworks to illuminate their figures.
