If you came to WPPI to touch and test the latest and greatest gear in the industry, then you are in luck—the show floor has been filled with tons of new product from portable storage to wireless lighting to 3D printing and more. But if you're looking to get even more hands-on with some of the gear that you're thinking of investing in then you should consider a Photo Walk.

What’s a Photo Walk, you ask? It can be anything from a session where you’ll be on your feet and led through an experience via one of our renowned speakers; they’ll go over lessons on lighting, posing, gear, and many classes will give you the opportunity to shoot as well.

Yesterday, we had an opportunity to join Sony Artisan of Imagery Paul Gero on his Photo Walk and learn how to master one of the most challenging and interesting forms of portraiture—low light.  Paul utilized a suite inside the MGM Grand as the studio space and brought in three models to pose as a bride, groom and bridesmaid.

Audience members (there were about 20 of us in the intimate group) were given the option to shoot with the latest Sony cameras and lenses. Throughout the shoot, Paul and the Sony team adjusted the lighting setups to mimic real-life situations—including how to block off the bright green ambient light from the Las Vegas strip.

Want to try your hand at a Photo Walk? It's not too late to sign up! There's still time to find the right class for you.
