Sekonic (Elmsford, NY, www.MACGroupUS.com) recently introduced a user-friendly light meter that’s specifically designed for today’s DSLR videographers, digital cinematographers and still photographers. The new L-308DC DigiCineMate features a full range of shutter speeds, as well as a special grouping of cine speeds and shutter angles. It’s the first light meter that can be customized to display only the specific functions needed for the task at hand. The L-308DC has three operating modes (HD Cine, Cine, Photo) and two methods of reading light (incident, reflected). All readings are displayed on the meter’s LCD readout in f-stops, EV, Lux (lx) or foot-candles (fc). Price: $279.
