The Social Issue
Summer is here (unofficially), and so is our June issue, which is loaded with tips to help you master your social sphere! We have what you need to become an expert at the art of connecting, both to your clients and to each other, online and off.
Heidi Browne (of the wedding duo Forged in the North, which she runs with her husband Ryan) captured this month’s cover stunner. Both she and Ryan, along with co-founder Lev Kuperman, give us the inside scoop on their community-focused wedding photography event, WRKSHP in Brooklyn, New York, and how it encourages networking while offering many learning opportunities from mentors and peers. In addition, we hear from the founders of Camp Go Away and Way Up North on how they’re also building communities, encouraging creative growth and getting photographers out from behind their computer screens.
As for our cover photo, Heidi shot this portrait on assignment for Hollywood Closet Rentals (HCR), channeling, she says, Julius Schulman’s 1960’s L.A. style and working closely with HCR owner Roxy Ortiz. “We wanted all the looks to pop with bright, bold colors,” says Heidi. “Roxy styled this particular look to be sexy, playful and confident. The model, Kelsey Evenson, really pulled it off.” And we love that Kelsey also embodies the perfect “It” girl for our Social issue!
