The After Capture Issue

© Jacob Loafman

“I don’t really plan out ideas,” says Jacob Loafman, who shot this image. “I simply head to the dollar store and choose a few things to use as props for a shoot. On this day, I had picked up some butterfly hair clips. I asked the subject to cover up her face with her hair, then I clipped two of them into her hair. I love the stillness of humans in photographs, so I asked her to be very still. I realized that I could take this into Photoshop and create a story out of this one photograph by having the subject face herself.”

Having employed one of his distinct editing looks to this shot, used on the cover of Rf‘s After Capture Issue, Loafman shared his experience creating and selling presets alongside the photo duo With Love & Embers and DVLOP.
