Tech Tuesday—SanDisk Connect Wireless Flash and Media Drives Preview

Sharing content across all your mobile devices isn’t exactly a walk in the park. Yes, there’s the “Cloud” for the widest level of sharing but, with the recently announced Connect Wireless Media and Connect Wireless Flash drives, we think SanDisk has come up with a couple of efficient and reliable alternatives.

Both solid-state devices are compatible with Mac, Windows, iOS and Android devices (and Kindle, too), and make it easy to move content from one device to another. Interfacing with mobile devices requires the free SanDisk app but, at this point, we’re all used to app-driven tasks.

Additionally, the two drives can connect to as many as eight mobile devices and/or computers at the same time, making it easy to distribute content en masse wherever—and to whomever—you want.

The Media Drive is equipped with an SDHC/SDXC card slot if you need more storage space (even temporarily) or want to back up images from a shoot before you return to the studio. And, images and some videos can be viewed straight from the Media Drive (video limitations are imposed by Apple’s iOS and not the device itself). As a bonus, you can stream movies from either device for some spontaneous entertainment.

The Connect Wireless Media Drive is available in 32GB and 64GB capacities for $80/$100; the Connect Wireless Flash Drive comes in 16GB and 32GB capacities and costs $50/$60, respectively.
