Skylum Updates Luminar to Luminar Neptune

April 13, 2018

By Greg Scoblete

The software developer formerly known as Macphun (now Skylum) has introduced an update to its Luminar RAW image editor for Mac and Windows PCs.

Luminar Neptune will be faster than its predecessor, up to 5x on Windows and a whopping 12x on Macs. The software now supports automatic lens distortion corrections and an improved RAW image conversion engine, the ability to purge chromatic aberration and cleaner gradients, according to Skylum.

Mac users will have access to new camera profiles, including portrait, standard, landscape, Adobe standard, vivid and more. Windows users get profiles later in June. The RAW import process has been sped up on Macs, with faster importing coming to Windows users in June.

Windows users will get a few updates just for them, including batch processing, improved cloning, better masking controls and the ability to share workspaces.

Luminar Neptune is available to download now for $69. You can read our review of Luminar 2018 here.
