Adorama’s Glow brand of light modifiers has a few new, highly portable additions as of this month.

The company has launched a range of EZ LOCK Collapsible Beauty Dishes, Deep Parabolic Softboxes, a Lantern Softbox and a Relfector Panel and Sun Scrim Kit.

Let’s start with the beauty dishes. They feature a Bowens S mount, a push-button locking mechanism and a removable center deflection disk. You can use the deflection disk on either of its sides to achieve different looks. According to Adorama, the Collapsible Beauty Dishes open and close just like an umbrella with aluminum support rods built for the rigors location work.

They’ll be sold in 25, 34 and 42-inch sizes with either silver or white interiors. Prices start at $69 and the lineup is available for pre-order now. They include an egg crate grid to give your light more directionality.

Parabolic Softbox

The EZ Lock Deep Parabolic Quick Softbox operates under the same principle as the collapsible beauty dish: it uses the EZ Lock system to quickly and securely open and close.

The parabolic modifier features a reversible opaque deflector cover that causes light to bounce throughout and flood the wall of the outer bowl of the softbox, resulting in a softer spread of indirect light. By flipping the deflector plate, you can realize differing levels of light distribution. The inner diffuser incorporates a central circular panel to avoid hotspots.

An egg crate grid and translucent diffusers are included with the softobx, as is a speed ring adapter for mounting it to your light. They’re available in 20, 28, 38 and 48-inch sizes and are available for pre-order now.

The new Lantern softbox spreads light throughout its circular shape so your light is evenly distributed. According to Adorama, the degree of softness that the translucent white fabric of the Quick Ball Lantern creates “exceeds that achieved by rectangular or even polygonal softboxes. Coverage on the horizontal axis is 360° and more than 240° vertically.”

The Lantern softbox is fitted with a Bowens S-mount adapter and will retail for $90.

Finally, the Glow Reflector Panel and Sun Scrum kit consists of a 39 x 62-inch scrim with a collapsible aluminum frame. The main diffusion material is a translucent silk type fabric that is wrapped onto the constructed aluminum frame and Velcro fastened. The kit also includes a reversible silver tone fabric and a solid white fabric.

It all collapses to fit into an included carrying bag. It’s available now for $99.
