No sooner did Profoto start shipping its new battery-powered B1X strobe then it’s been forced to issue a recall for the unit’s battery due to an unspecified “potential safety issue.”

The flash unit itself is not being recalled.

The recall impacts products manufactured between 2017-09 and 2017-16 (year, week).

The company is advising those who purchased a B1X to contact their local dealer to facilitate a return.

In the interim, Profoto B1X users can use the original B1’s battery in their unit.
