Much like still photography in general, there’s no single way to light a beautiful studio portrait. But it’s always useful to see how photographers approach their portrait lighting for new ideas and inspiration.
In this video, Karl Taylor breaks down his lighting setup on a recent portrait shoot. Taylor’s advice: worry less about lighting ratios and more about how the light looks to you.
