Elinchrom is launching a new EL-Skyport transmitter and receiver for use with its strobes.
The EL-Skyport Transmitter Plus has a range of 656 feet and works with all Skyport-enabled Elinchrom flashes. It supports eight frequency options, each with a speed or standard mode, and four groups. It accepts AA batteries and has an adjustable orientation, so you can position it upright or horizontally on a camera’s hot shoe.
EL-Skyport Receiver Plus has a built in hotshoe so it can trigger speedlights. It can also work with the new Skyport HS Plus Transmitter to provide Hi-Sync shooting for speedlights. Elinchrom says most speedlights should support Hi-Sync shooting when set to full power.
Elinchrom will bundle the new EL-Skyport Plus transmitter with its D-Lite RX, BRX, ELC HD and ELB 400 flashes systems. The Elinchrom Skyport Plus system is backwards compatible with the existing Skyport Speed system.
Speaking of the ELB 400, Elinchrom is adding a few new items to its portable flash kit. The battery-powered flash sets will now include an 18-cm Quadra grid reflector that delivers almost one stop more light. The system will also bundle a new Location bag for toting the portable pack-and-head system around.
