Leica is expanding its lineup for its SL full frame mirrorless camera with a pair of new primes lenses: the APO-Summicron-SL 75 mm f/2 ASPH and the APO-Summicron-SL 90 mm f/2 ASPH. 

According to Leica, “state-of-the-art, extremely precise manufacturing methods and measuring technologies were developed specifically for the production of these lenses.” Autofocusing is driven by a new Dual Syncro Drive stepping motor system which can travel the entire focusing range in 250 milliseconds, Leica says.

Both new Summicron-SL lenses are Apochromatic to minimize chromatic aberration and stop down to f/22.

The 75mm f/2 lens can focus on objects as close as .5m with a magnification of 1:5. The 90mm f/2 can focus on objects as close as .6m with a magnification of 1:5.

Both lenses are due in February. The APO-Summicron-SL 75 mm f/2 ASPH will retail for $4,750 while the APO-Summicron-SL 90 mm f/2 ASPH will cost $5,150.

Leica is also prepping two more Summicron primes for the SL system, due in the second half of this year. There will be a Summicron-SL 35 mm f/2 ASPH and an APO-Summicron-SL 50 mm f/2 ASPH to look forward to.
