Bags
Just in time for summer and the upcoming wedding season, Ona has announced The Savannah, a compact, crossbody bag that’s a perfect accessory for making sure your camera and a couple of lenses are close at hand regardless of whether you’re shooting with a pro DSLR or have gone totally mirrorless.
Like many of the company’s other bags, The Savannah is stylish and handcrafted from full-grain leather. Accented with antique brass hardware, the bag has a long, adjustable strap for wearing crossbody or over your shoulder.
The bag is roomy enough for two mirrorless cameras with lenses attached, or a small DSLR when the closed-cell foam padded interior is removed. The magnetic closer means there’s no zipper or Velcro noise when you open the bag when silence is golden (like during a ceremony). But one of my favorite features is the snap-in key holder, a critical addition for those of us who have a difficult time keeping track of our keys.
Exterior dimensions of this 1.1-pound bag measure 8 x 9 x 4.5 inches, with an interior that measures 6 x 8.5 x 3.5 inches. If you’re traveling fairly light, you should be able to squeeze an iPad Mini and other accessories into the main compartment. There’s also a back zipped compartment with small pockets, perfect for stowing a Metro card for easy access.
Available in black, The Savannah bag retails for $219. It’s well constructed from high-quality leather and, like my old Ona bag, this one should last a long, long time, even with heavy use.
