FYI Film Shooters: Get a Better View of Slides with the Reflecta

December 5, 2017

We all know that analog is in. If you're still shooting 35mm slides, you need to check out this cool—and portable--viewing alternative to a lightbox.

The reflecta Light Panel A4+ from OmegaBrandess is a slender viewing panel that, at 12.2 x 8.3 inches, is large enough to hold up to 24 framed 35mm slides. Illuminated by LEDs, the Light Panel provides even lighting for corner-to-corner viewing of your slides or negatives—even in clear storage sleeves.

Only 0.3 inches thick and weighing about 22.6 ounces, the reflecta Light Panel fits easily into a laptop or camera bag. And it takes up almost zero space for storage in the studio.

A trio of color temperature adjustments include 3000K, 5000K or 8000K and the LEDs are dimmable, providing even more flexibility to the Light Panel.

A 5 volt 2 Amp adapter powers the unit, so you’ll need to be near an outlet. But the LEDs have a lifespan of about 50,000 hours so you’ll get plenty of use out of this device.

The Light Panel A4+ will be available in late December or early January, so check the site or your local photo specialty stores. Estimated price is $160.
