The Epson SureColor P5000, the 17-inch wide-format successor to the Stylus Pro 4900, features a 10-color UltraChrome HDX pigment inkset with higher density black inks for increased overall contrast and dynamic range. Print life jumps to as long as 200 (color) and 400 years (black and white). With 220mL cartridges, the SC P5000 can handle large print runs. Built-in roll printing and a high-capacity cassette complement front and top paper feeds. Epson has taken care to add dust-proof features like a cover protecting the roll feed. The well-designed but beastly printer weighs almost 115 pounds and has a footprint of 34.0 x 30.2 x 15.8 inches. It’s equipped with Gigabit Ethernet and USB 2.0 ports, a built-in rotary cutter, and a full color LCD control panel and a bright alert lamp that, in tandem with the control panel, provide important notifications about ink status, paper feed issues and more. It’s available in Standard, Commercial (with Violet ink replacing Light Light Black) and Designer (with RIP) editions.

Hahnemühle Photo Gloss Baryta 320

Baryta-coated inkjet paper never loses its appeal and continues to grow in popularity. Hahnemühle’s Photo Gloss Baryta 320 has an improved coating that delivers a large color gamut and excellent details and sharpness. The substrate is bright white, made from 100 percent alpha-Cellulose and is known for its smooth, high-gloss baryta look and feel. Available in 25-sheet boxes from 8.5 x 11 to 17 x 22 inches, the paper also comes in 49-foot rolls at 17-, 24-, 44- and 50-inch widths.

LexJet Sunset Copperplate Rag

With its new Sunset Copperplate Rag 315gsm, LexJet has introduced its first mould-made fine-art paper. Thanks to the mould-made process, the paper has interlocking fibers that not only strengthen the paper but add a rich texture as well. The Sunset Copperplate paper features a 100 percent cotton, natural white base with a matte finish that is OBA-, acid- and lignin-free, with a wide gamut and dMax. Available in cut sheet sizes up to 36 x 48 inches, the paper is also manufactured in 50-foot rolls up to 60 inches in width and is compatible with aqueous printers.

Innova Art Fabriano Inkjet Papers

As part of its Editions line of six fine-art papers, Innova Art introduced two classic European mould-made papers developed in cooperation with Fabriano: Fabriano Printmaking Rag 310gsm and Fabriano Artistico Watercolour Rag 310gsm. Printmaking Rag features pure white tones and soft grain texture while Artistico Watercolour Rag is a traditional cold press paper with an enhanced surface for inkjet printing. Both are available in standard cut sheet sizes and rolls with widths up to 60 inches.

Canon imagePROGRAF PRO-6000

The largest 12-ink printer on the market today, the 60-inch wide imagePROGRAF PRO-6000 features 11 LUCIA PRO color inks along with a Chroma Optimizer. Its Sub-Ink Tank feature enables ink tank replacement during printing, and there’s no need to switch black inks when you change media. With its multi-function roll system, users can load two media types at a time or configure the system to rewind longer prints. Wi-Fi, USB connectivity, a built-in 320GB hard drive and a densitometer are only a few of the standout features of this printer.

Canson Infinity Baryta Prestige 340gsm

This TIPA (Technical Image Press Association) award-winning paper has the look and feel of silver halide prints, as its baryta designation implies. Its acid-free, alpha-cellulose and cotton base is coated with Barium sulphate for a smooth gloss surface. Excellent dMax and image sharpness, the 340gsm, Canson Infinity Baryta Prestige is highly durable and available in both cut sheets and rolls.

PermaJet FB Mono Gloss Baryta 320

A recent addition to PermaJet’s fibre-based inkjet paper line, Mono Gloss Baryta was designed with monochrome prints in mind. A smooth, glazed gloss finish lends itself to black-and-white prints, producing rich blacks and smooth gradations. At the same time, this alpha-cellulose, acid-free paper produces vibrant colors as well. Mono Gloss Baryta 320 is available in cut sheet sizes and rolls up to 44 inches wide.

DNP expanded the capabilities of its flagship DS620A dye-sub printer earlier this year with new (and free) firmware (v. 1.41) and driver (v. updates, as well as an update to its Hot Folder Print Utility to v. 2.2.
