USPS Issues Kodak “Baby Brownie” Commemorative Stamp
July 27, 2011
The United States Postal Service (Washington DC, www.usps.com) recently issued 12 commemorative postage stamps honoring the nation’s influential industrials designers from the 1930s to the 1960s. One of the 12 stamps commemorates the “dean of industrial design,” Walter Dorwin Teague. Teague, who worked with the assumption that great artistic design fits both form and function into a unified aesthetic package, designed Eastman Kodak cameras, including the very popular 1934 “Baby Brownie,” which is displayed on the stamp.
