PSPI: A New Beginning

December 18, 2015

By Laura Brauer

On November 4, WPPI announced the formation of PSPI (Professional School & Sports Photographers International Association), a new endeavor that has already generated a lot of excitement! This new venture will add yet another benefit for our PHOTO+ Group members and will provide another layer of education to our conference programming.

As part of this new formation, WPPI will be adding significant education dedicated to photographers who want to learn more about, or who want to continue their studies in volume school and sports photography. There will also be intensive education via platform classes, master classes and photo walks.

Advisement will come from the newly formed PSPI board of directors, who will also assist in programming, conference education, as well as providing advocacy in the school and sports arena.

WPPI will also be dedicating an entire day of its show to focus on this genre, and is working on building a mini tradeshow that will allow relevant vendors to offer their advice and display products associated with school and sports photography.

In true WPPI fashion, there will also be tons of giveaways, as well as a cocktail hour.

Below is the current schedule for our first annual PSPI day on Saturday March 5, 2016, which will be called “The University for School and Sports Photographers.” Entrance will be free with a Full Platform Pass (which is also free if you’re a member!) You can join the Photo+ Group (as well as also becoming a member of PSPI) by clicking here.
