A decade of staring at album artwork while working in record stores has helped shape who Lucy Spartalis is as a photographer. “So has my intense love of cinema,” she explains. “Both have had an enormous influence over my style. The work of such photographic artists as Erwin Olaf, Annie Leibovitz and Autumn De Wilde, album artwork designer Storm Thorgerson, and filmmakers from Stanley Kubrick to Lars Von Trier have all motivated me to use color, composition and light in powerful ways.”
