It was two o’clock in the afternoon near Tours, France, when this couple and their photographer, Alison Doffe, decided to take some portraits at a local vineyard. The vineyard was on the way to city hall where the couple planned to exchange their vows, so their excitement, like the midday sun, was at its peak.

“I was riding in the car in front of my future newlyweds when we stopped and parked. They just started to shout,” Doffe says. “Nothing was planned, but their spontaneous attitude matched so well with the timing.” With her camera at the ready, Doffe jumped on their car hood and took this shot. “The frame reflects the true happiness and energy of this couple,” she says. “We laughed so much and we had an amazing time together, all the way into the night and on the dance floor!”
