Photo of the Day
Captured at Lizard Point, a boating yard in Cornwall, England, this was actually taken during a bright, sunny day, but because the natural daylight was so harsh, photographer Carla Blain asked couple Ella and Chris to come with her under a jetty for shade. “They fell into one another because the rocks were so slippery where the tide had drifted out,” Blain recalls, “but I love how the light beautifully framed her shoulder and his face. All I had to do was ask him to paint her shoulder with kisses.”
While this isn’t the type of photo she was expecting to get from a beach shoot, Blain loves it nonetheless. “The beach was crowded with families and the sun was blaring, but somehow we managed to create a peaceful bubble that’s also a little bit raw and moody,” she says. “Playing with shadows is exciting!”
(Captured using a Canon 6D with a Sigma 35mm Art lens.)
