Dancing at Dusk [Rf Photo of the Day]

This image depicts one of those unplanned, spontaneous moments that happen at weddings. It took place as the couple was getting ready to take their formal couples portraits—it was sunset and they had just snuck away from the reception, says California-based photographer Katch Silva, a 30 Rising Star from 2015. The music from the outdoor reception above was still very loud, Silva says, “so I told the couple, Ayana and Joel, to feel the music and dance together down the hill.”

The newly married bride and groom went for it, and Silva was there with camera in-hand to capture the joy and the movement. “I snapped this shot as he reached out for her hand and they wiggled together to the music,” she says. “Later, Ayana told me this was one of her favorite images from the day, and I think I feel the same way!”
