Calm and Cool Near the Danube [Rf Photo of the Day]

Fine-art and portrait photographer Aleksandar Gligoric was “just snapping a few shots” at a family barbecue near the Danube river in his native Serbia when he captured this portrait of his friend’s daughter, Lana. Lana’s mom, Aleksandra, is not only a family friend of the photographer, but also a kids clothing designer and the unofficial stylist of this spontaneous shoot.

It was a cloudy day, so Gligoric used only his Canon Mark III and an 85mm f/1.2 lens to capture Lana’s portrait. “In addition to the style, light and location—a natural place with a lot of wild horses and scenery—I also like working with Lana,” he says. “She’s the perfect model, always up for the task!”
