Seattle-based photographer Roddy Chung photographed a small wedding whose reception dinner was to take place at a famed Italian restaurant (the groom, Chung adds, was of Italian descent). Like many traditional, generational and old-fashioned Italian spots, this one had countless framed photos covering the walls. Chung knew what he wanted to do with that.

“It took me a while to pick one frame out of the hundreds of photographs to perfectly resemble their love,” he says, but then he found this one, of a couple embracing. Perfect.

“The challenging part was being able to focus on the reflection of the photograph in the extremely dark restaurant,” Chung recalls. He had the bride and groom sit under a light, framed them in a dark part of the photo to better capture their faces and was able to capture the twinkling lights that surrounded them.
