A Beautiful Sunset and Fitting Reward, By Samuel Docker [Rf Photo of the Day]

There are several reasons international wedding photographer Samuel Docker says he loves this photo, taken at the Chateau De Puissentut in the South of France in summertime. First and foremost is the beautiful orange glow. “If only I could get this kind of sunset at every wedding,” exclaims the Rf 2015 30 Rising Star.

The challenge of capturing this particular moment was another reason the UK-based Docker says this is one of his favorite shots. “I used a lens I don’t often use for couple portraits—the Canon 135L—so this was my way of pushing myself to shoot something differently,” he says.

The image also represents a much-deserved reward for the couple. Having spent the week before the wedding dealing with various issues that Docker says “would break most couples, not to mention the constant threat of thunderstorms for the entire day of the wedding,” the couple stayed strong, battled on and “just let it be,” he says. “This image for me completely sums up their reward: an absolutely beautiful wedding day.”
