WPPI News: Perfectly Clear Gives You New Plug-ins for Quickly Tweaking Images

March 8, 2016

By Laura Brauer

Image software maker Athentech is spinning out two of the editing tools in its Perfectly Clear software suite into standalone plugins for Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom.

The first is Perfect Exposure, which will be available free of charge. Perfect Exposure makes instant fixes to images and includes eight new presets for quickly making specific corrections.

Unlike competing one-click fixes, Perfect Exposure does a detailed measurement at the pixel level of an image’s color frequency. As it makes changes to the exposure value, it preserves the original color frequency. The end result are quick exposure fixes that don’t result in color shift or highlight clipping.

Users can fine tune any preset using sliders–they can also save their changes into custom presets for future use.

The second product, Perfect Eyes, will offer eight custom presets designed in conjunction with photographer Matthew Jordan Smith. Like Perfect Exposure, Perfect Eyes presets can be tweaked using sliders and changes can be saved as custom presets. The software can also add one of five catchlight effects to eyes.

Perfect Eyes is available now for $49.

Athentech will be launching another plugin–Perfect Skin–soon.
