Sensor size is one of those endlessly debated issues among photographers and while opinions vary, you don’t always see the debate center specifically on portrait photography.
In this video, photographer Manny Ortiz breaks down the difference between shooting portraits with a crop sensor camera (Sony’s a6300) and a full frame (a7 II). It may not settle the case conclusively, but it provides a nice overview of the impact that sensor size will have on your depth of field.
