New Cameras and Lenses from Nikon, Pentax and Zeiss

With PhotoPlus Expo only weeks away, there are plenty of new products to write about. Since yesterday morning, we’ve seen a new lens from Zeiss, a DSLR and lens from Pentax and, just after midnight, the latest full-frame camera from Nikon—the D610.

The first announcement came from Zeiss with a new 55mm, f/1.4 lens. It’s the first in Zeiss’ new Otus line of high quality DSLR lenses and Zeiss promises the same quality and performance with the Otus 55mm and Canon or Nikon DSL as one would expect from a medium format system.

Pentax introduced the K-3 DSLR and a new telephoto lens. What’s cool about the K-3 is that users can toggle the low pass filter on and off. Interesting concept.

And, finally, Nikon introduced its latest full-frame DSLR—the D610. It’s very similar to the D600, but the big question is whether or not this new model solves the dust/oil issue some D600 users experienced, so check out PDNPulse to find out more.
