Samsung Unveils 20MP NX3000 Mirrorless "Smart" Camera With Wireless Connectivity

If you like shooting quality images and sharing them wirelessly on the go, Samsung’s connected “Smart” cameras are a solid option. The company just announced the new NX3000 Smart camera, a mirrorless, interchangeable lens model which uses a 20.3-megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor.

The Samsung NX3000 has built-in Wi-Fi and NFC for sharing images wirelessly. Samsung’s “Tag & Go” connectivity lets you pair the NX3000 with an NFC-enabled device, such as a smart phone or tablet, just by touching the two together.

Once connected, you can transfer multiple images between the devices; send images to up to four other devices; or control the NX3000 wirelessly using your smartphone. (Note to Apple users: your iOS mobile devices do not have NFC capability.)

The Samsung NX3000 has a 3-inch flip-up display with a unique feature called “Wink Shot.” When you open the screen, frame a face in the display and the subject winks, the camera will automatically capture the the shot, which makes it great for “selfies.”

The NX3000 also has a fast maximum shutter speed of 1/4000 of second, and can shoot at up to five frames per second. The camera comes in black, white or brown and ships as a kit with Samsung’s new compact 16-50mm F3.5-5.6 Power Zoom ED OIS Lens, or with a 20-50mm lens and the SEF-8 Flash. The Samsung NX3000 replaces the NX2000, which came out a year ago.
