Larkin Wins Arnold Newman Award for New Direction in Photographic Portraiture

The PDN PhotoPlus International Conference + Expo (New York, NY) has named British documentary photographer, Jason Larkin, the 2011 Arnold Newman Award winner for New Directions in Photographic Portraiture. His winning image series, “Past Perfect,” was chosen because of how it examines the museums of Egypt using different styles of curation to present exhibits depicting the past to contemporary audiences. Larkin received a $15,000 cash prize; his images will be on display at the Farnsworth Museum in Rockland, ME from July 2–November 27, 2011.
