Half Dome Moon?

September 7, 2011

Stan McQuown of Stan McQuown Photography (Oroville, CA 530/589-7854, www.StansPhotoArt.com) took exception with the description of the image of Half Dome, Yosemite National Park, in the May 2011 issue of Rangefinder magazine. According to McQuown, photographer William G. Hartshorn appears to have forgotten to mention that he Photoshopped in the moon. The moon, says McQuown, is never in that phase at sunset and it would never appear that large with the wide-angle shot he took.
