Neither the snow nor cold temperatures seemed to bother this couple during their photoshoot with Netherlands-based photographer Lieke Huiting.

The couple had officially tied the knot several days earlier in Chile, the groom’s native country, but they had a separate reception near the bride’s hometown in Vierhouten, The Netherlands, where this portrait was taken.

“I loved this couple because of their kindness, their willingness to walk through the snow and to endure the cold,” Huiting says. “They were just beaming with happiness and it was such a pleasure to capture the love between these two.”

In choosing to keep the palette black and white, Huiting says she didn’t want any distractions from the pure excitement and bliss of the moment. “I wanted his proud face and her loving smile to be in the spotlight,” she says, and even though Huiting was snapping away, the couple was so perfectly happy in this moment that they hardly noticed she was there at all.
